U.S. Suspends Consular Services in Brazil on Eve of Elections

French President Emmanuel Macron warned that Russia could mobilize up to 300,000 people following elections, citing reports from European and American intelligence services and Ukrainian officials.
Macron made the statement during an interview with TF1 and France 2 on September 24, indicating that the Kremlin had waited for elections to take place before initiating another mobilization campaign.
In Berlin, dozens of opposition protesters gathered outside the Russian embassy on the final day of Russia's parliamentary elections, where they shredded fake votes into ballot boxes.
Emergency services were deployed to areas affected by a drone attack on Moscow, with around 450 drones reportedly heading towards the city.
Meanwhile, in Germany, voters in the states of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Berlin were heading to the polls in regional elections where gains by far-right and far-left parties could destabilize Chancellor Friedrich Merz's government.
In the United States, the Department of Health and Human Services stated that there was not enough information to pinpoint the type of produce, the grower, or the supplier in a recent food safety alert.
The U.S. has also suspended permanent labor certification filings by IT services company Cognizant and software firm Cloudera, as part of the Trump administration's crackdown on alleged fraud and misuse of employment visa programs.
The French president's comments reflect growing international scrutiny of Russia's military and political maneuvers.
