The United States Marine Corps announced Friday that it has met its recruitment goals for fiscal year 2026, enlisting 31,250 new recruits, 1,672 officers, and 3,503 prior-service members to the Marine Reserve forces.

According to the War Department, the service accessed these numbers while maintaining the high quality of recruits that the Marine Corps is known for.

General Walker Field, commanding general of the Marine Corps Recruiting Command, praised the recruiters for their performance, stating, 'Our Marines have performed superbly, and they represent our Corps with pride and honor.

The Marine Corps also reported that it has already contracted more than half of its 2027 recruitment mission, indicating a strong start for the new fiscal year.

This achievement comes after the Army and Army Reserves also met their recruitment goals earlier in the year.

The Marine Corps has consistently met its recruitment goals since 1994, unlike some other services that have struggled in recent years.

Sergeant Major Dorsey, the senior enlisted leader of the Marine Corps Recruiting Command, added, 'Likewise, it is emblematic of the legion of young Americans who are choosing, of their own volition, to serve this great nation of ours.

What this adds

The Marine Corps' consistent success in meeting recruitment goals stands out compared to other services that have faced challenges in recent years.
