Reports on Reddit suggest that Gemini, the AI assistant integrated into Android Auto, is experiencing significant issues with search functionality.

Users attempting to perform searches with Gemini find that the assistant gets stuck while processing their queries.

According to Android Authority, these problems persist even after users try troubleshooting steps such as resetting the vehicle’s Android Auto settings or updating their phones.

Michael Wahlstrom, GM’s executive director of software product management, highlighted the importance of user-centric features like CarPlay and Android Auto in an October 2025 statement to MacRumors.

The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra models will continue to support both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside native truck functions such as trailering and vehicle status.

While Gemini’s search issues are specific to Android Auto, the broader context of user-centric features remains a priority for GM and other automakers.
