Mason Graham, the Cleveland Browns' defensive tackle and sack leader, will miss a few weeks after sustaining an MCL sprain and ankle sprain during the team's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Graham, the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, left the game early in the first quarter after getting tangled up with a Steelers offensive lineman.

The MRI results on Friday revealed that while the injury is not expected to be long-term, Graham will be out for several weeks.

Graham had been enjoying a stellar start to his second season, recording 4.0 sacks and seven tackles in his first three games.

During the Browns' Week 3 win over the Carolina Panthers, Graham notched 2.0 sacks and seven tackles, including three for loss.

Graham's college career at Michigan from 2022-24 was marked by standout performances, including 108 combined tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and nine sacks.

The Browns' defense continued to perform well after Graham's departure, with Maliek Collins recording a sack on Aaron Rodgers.

The team is expected to place Graham on the short-term injured reserve, which would open up a roster spot and keep him out for four games.

The Browns could potentially have a solid record by the time Graham returns, as they have been playing well recently.

The MRI results provided a mix of good and bad news for the young defensive tackle, with the bad news being the injury will keep him out for a few weeks.

Graham's absence will be felt, but the Browns' recent performance suggests they can manage without him for the time being.

The team's next games, against the New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, and Tennessee Titans, will be crucial in Graham's absence.

What this adds

The MRI results revealed the extent of Graham's injuries, confirming the initial diagnosis.

The Browns' defense managed to maintain its performance despite Graham's early exit.
