Rams head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that the NFL informed him the defensive pass interference call against cornerback Josh Wallace was incorrect, according to Nate Atkins of The Athletic.
However, Wallace was flagged for pass interference, giving the Broncos a first down and new life.
The Broncos subsequently scored a touchdown with 47 seconds left, securing a 30-26 victory over the Rams.
Replays showed that Pat Bryant, the Broncos' wide receiver, had grabbed Wallace, not the other way around.
McVay had requested more information on the sequence from the league, a common practice for coaches and teams to better educate players on officiating.
The Rams were leading the Broncos 26-23 in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter when the controversial call occurred.
McVay emphasized that the only thing that matters to him is educating his players on such calls.
It remains too early to determine if Donald's condition will affect his game status for Week 4.
