An authorized documentary about the life of St. Carlo Acutis premiered at the Vatican Film Library on September 5, 2023. The film, titled 'Carlo Acutis: The Young Saint,' includes home videos and photos from his pilgrimages to sites such as Rome, Milan, and Fátima.
Among those present at the Vatican for the screening was Carlo’s mother, Antonia Alzano Acutis, who reflected on the impact of her son’s canonization in 2022, the first for a millennial.
The documentary, which marks the 20th anniversary of Acutis’ death from leukemia in 2006, will be shown in Italian theaters starting from October 10, 2023.
According to Antonia Alzano Acutis, 'Carlo, on the other hand, calls us back to eternal life and reminds us of the truth that God exists.' She also recounted her son's words, 'We will all climb Golgotha sooner or later, won’t we? But a good life isn’t necessarily a long life; it is a life where one truly manages to put God first.
The documentary is set to premiere in North America in February 2027, offering audiences a glimpse into the life and message of the first millennial saint.
