UCF Knights Unveil Space-Themed Uniforms Honoring Mercury, Gemini, Apollo Programs
Developing
In Short: The UCF Knights unveiled their latest Space Game uniforms, which pay tribute to the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs of the 1960s. The uniforms, part of the 'Mission X' theme, feature unique designs and nods to the space program.

Landen Chambers ran for a 1-yard touchdown, extending the UCF Knights' lead over the TCU Horned Frogs during the game. However, the focus was on the team's new uniforms, which are a feast for the eyes with their intricate designs.
The black stitching on the jerseys is a direct nod to the Mercury program's space suits, featuring prominent zippers and black stitching. The cuffs of the jerseys are colored 'Canaveral blue' and red, mirroring the Gemini program's space suits.
The shoulders of the jerseys feature patches similar to those worn during the Gemini missions. This year's Space Game patch is modeled after the Gemini X mission patch.
UCF, which opened its doors in 1963, has long been a pipeline to the nearby Kennedy Space Center. The school has been throwing on special space-themed getups for a decade now, with this year's batch being particularly impressive.
The school's tenth Space Game, 'Mission X,' is filled with cool symbolism, according to a Fox News report. The uniforms are a testament to the school's rich history and its connection to the space program.
What's still developing
- Thanks to the modern Artemis Missions, mankind is headed back to the Moon in the next few years, but for their annual Space Game uniforms, the UCF Knights are throwing it back to the pioneers who got us there in the first place.
- UCF opened its doors in 1963 — right around the time the Space Race was heating up — as Florida Technological University, and ever since, it has long served as a pipeline to the nearby Kennedy Space Center.
