Trinidad Chambliss Is The Best QB In College Football. What's His NFL Draft Ceiling?
Confirmed
In Short: This victory not only strengthens Ole Miss's position in the College Football Playoff race but also puts Chambliss in the running for national accolades.
Trinidad Chambliss led the Ole Miss Rebels to a 32-24 victory over LSU in a highly anticipated matchup on Saturday night.
The game, which featured two top-ten teams, saw Chambliss throw both of his touchdown passes in the first half, setting the tone for the Rebels.
Chambliss's performance was particularly significant as it pitted him against his former coach, Lane Kiffin, who had named Chambliss the starting quarterback last fall after Ole Miss lost Austin Simmons to an injury.
Chambliss's dynamic playmaking ability was on full display, as he completed 70% of his passes for 924 yards and seven touchdowns, while also rushing for 64 yards and two more scores.
Chambliss's performance against LSU further cements his status as a potential first-round NFL draft pick, with scouts and analysts watching closely as the season progresses.
Despite LSU's defense being ranked No.1 in the SEC, Chambliss' versatility by extending drives with his legs and throwing down the field proved to be enough for Ole Miss to squeeze its way out of the game.
Chambliss's post-game interview with ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe went viral, drawing both praise and backlash on social media.
Chambliss's growth as a quarterback and his ability to lead his team to victory in high-pressure situations were on full display, turning skeptics of his pro prospects into believers.

What's confirmed
- 8 Ole Miss and quarterback Trinidad Chambliss on Saturday night.
What's still developing
- He’s posted impressive rushing totals in his 16 starts at Ole Miss, including 591 yards and 10 scores, but I don’t expect him to wow in pre-draft workouts and wouldn’t be surprised at all if he opts not to run prior to the draft.
- Granted, some of the best scrambling quarterbacks in the NFL aren’t necessarily elite athletes.
- As a former under-recruited prospect who began his college career as a backup at Ferris State, Chambliss should have perspective.
- With all due respect to Arch Manning, Dante Moore and so many other celebrated quarterbacks throughout the college football landscape, the most impressive player at the position through the first month of the season has been Ole Miss' Trinidad Chambliss.
- While some of the other QBs of the 2027 class have fizzled under the brightest lights, Chambliss has consistently excelled, turning skeptics of his pro prospects into believers.
- After diving into the 2026 tape, I broke down and graded Chambliss in each category.
- Fortunately for Chambliss, this is one of his many strengths.
