Spanish Producer Joins 'Dog Legs' Film Adaptation

Spanish producer David Matamoros of Doce Entertainment has joined the production of 'Dog Legs,' an adaptation of the Chilean cult novel 'Patas de perro,' Variety reported. Matamoros, known for his work on 'The Platform,' is one of five producers from Spain, Chile, France, Germany, and Colombia backing the project.

Federico Durán, the Colombian producer of the film through his company El Sol Ermitaño, said Spain's involvement 'strengthens the project and puts us in a very strong position to complete its financing.' The film is described as ambitious both technically and artistically, aiming to reach a broad audience.

Chile's A Simple Vista began developing 'Dog Legs' four years ago, and this year, Reality Films and Klinker Films joined the project at the Berlinale. Reality Films is the production arm of French distributor Epicentre Films, known for distributing Colombia's Cannes-winning film 'A Poet.

Published in 1965, 'Dog Legs' is considered a landmark of Chilean literature, described as radical, powerful, and deeply unsettling. Matías Rojas, the director of 'Dog Legs,' previously directed 'A Place Called Dignity.
