Paramount+ Acquires Three A24 Series
Confirmed
In Short: Paramount+ has acquired three new A24 series, including 'It Gets Worse,' 'Major Players,' and 'The Ministry of Time.' The series will be available on the streamer in the U.S. in the coming months.
It Gets Worse' is narrated by acclaimed novelist Zadie Smith and directed by Mounia Akl. The series is inspired by director Molly Manning Walker's experiences at school and is described as a 'funny, wild exploration of young people in London today.
Major Players' is a coming-of-age drama created by Molly Manning Walker and Yasmin Joseph. The series was screened at Series Mania earlier this year and is set in a school environment where crowd control is more urgent than education.
The Ministry of Time' is an adaptation of Kaliane Bradley's novel and stars Alice Birch and Billy Howle. The series follows a newly established government department that gathers 'expats' from across history to test the viability of time travel.
Alice Birch, known for her work on 'Succession,' is adapting 'The Ministry of Time.' The series is directed by Aneil Karia and follows civil servant Sophy as she helps a time traveler acclimate to the modern world.
Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals at Paramount+, praised A24's contributions to independent series and films, stating that these acquisitions will strengthen Paramount+'s reputation for inventive and compelling stories.
