Meta Hires MongoDB CEO Desai for Enterprise AI Push
Confirmed
In Short: Meta has hired MongoDB CEO Chirantan 'CJ' Desai to lead its new Enterprise Platform, focusing on AI tools for businesses.

Meta has hired MongoDB CEO Chirantan 'CJ' Desai to lead its new Enterprise Platform, which will focus on turning the company's AI stack into products and services for businesses.
Desai will join Meta as chief enterprise platform officer and report directly to CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
The newly launched Meta Enterprise Platform will initially offer Meta’s Muse personal AI agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code.
Desai said the platform would draw on Meta’s AI models, agents, infrastructure, and experience working with businesses.
Desai’s task will be to turn those technologies into products that companies are willing to deploy at scale.
Meta noted that more than one million businesses were already using a Business Agent on WhatsApp and Messenger when it introduced the service’s wider platform in June.
Zuckerberg described Meta Enterprise Platform as the “next major pillar” of the business.
Desai’s background and track record make him a significant hire for Meta.
Desai spent his early years in India before moving to the United States in 1993 for studies.
He has held leadership roles at various enterprise software majors, including Oracle, EMC, ServiceNow, and Cloudflare.
The appointment also marks Desai’s exit from MongoDB less than a year after he became its chief executive.
MongoDB has brought back former CEO Dev Ittycheria as interim CEO while it searches for a permanent replacement.
