Ex-Tesla Team Launches Supply Chain Startup Atomic
Developing
In Short: Former Tesla employees have launched a startup called Atomic, which aims to streamline supply chain management using artificial intelligence.

Former Tesla employees have launched a startup called Atomic, which aims to streamline supply chain management using artificial intelligence. The company came out of stealth last year, promising to leverage their experience at Tesla to improve inventory management and boost customers' profitability.
Atomic's CEO, Rossiter, told TechCrunch that the startup's AI can adapt to various supply chain systems, optimizing decisions in real-time despite constant changes.
Rossiter emphasized the potential of Atomic's technology to move supply chain planning from spreadsheets to advanced software, enabling more efficient decision-making.
The startup raised $12.5 million to develop its AI platform, which is designed to handle the complex and dynamic nature of supply chain optimization.
According to Rossiter, the goal is to create a general model that can tailor-fit to any supply chain system, making it a versatile solution for businesses looking to improve their operations.
What's still developing
- “If you think about running a supply chain, running an operating model, it’s like an infinite search space for optimization that you’re trying to figure out all the decisions you could make at any given time — and then it changes all the time too,” Rossiter, who is Atomic’s CEO, said in an exclusive interview with TechCrunch.
- “The cool thing about Atomic is it’s a general model of how you think about supply chains and operating models, and so no matter what that system looks like, our AI can can adapt to it and tailor fit it,” he said.
