Heather Thompson Day and her husband Seth Day, both professors and bestselling authors, were arrested on September 24 and 25, 2026, in Johnson County, Texas, on charges of injury to a child, elderly, or disabled individual with intent to cause bodily injury.

Seth Day, a 39-year-old assistant professor of psychology at Southwestern Adventist University, was also charged with sexual assault of a child. His bond was set at $250,000.

Both Days previously taught at Andrews University, a Seventh-day Adventist school in Michigan. Heather Thompson Day, 39, was an associate professor of communication at Andrews University.

The couple is known for their book 'I’ll See You Tomorrow,' which focuses on relationships.

Southwestern Adventist University confirmed Seth Day's arrest in a statement posted on social media, stating, 'Southwestern Adventist University has been informed that Seth Day, a faculty member of our school, was taken into custody.

Heather Thompson Day did not respond to an emailed request for comment. The couple's representatives stated, 'We will share additional details as appropriate.
