According to Deadline, the re-release will feature more surprises in the extra footage, including a scene involving Rosario Dawson's character Claire Temple, which was originally cut from the film.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, follows Peter Parker as he rebuilds his life after a spell made his friends and family forget who he was. The film has already surpassed the domestic box office record previously held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The re-release is expected to add to the film's already impressive box office performance. As of yesterday, the film's current global tally stands at $2.495 billion, with $950.7 million coming from North America.

Deadline reports that Sony Pictures is still working on the details of the re-release, including the exact date and the specific content of the additional footage.

During a fan event in July, Dawson told the crowd that she had filmed a scene for Brand New Day as Claire Temple but that it ended up on the cutting room floor.

The re-release strategy is reminiscent of Sony's previous double-feature re-release of Sam Raimi’s original Spider-Man with Men in Black II during Labor Day weekend in 2002.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is also Sony’s highest-grossing movie ever, having unseated Spider-Man: No Way Home some weeks ago.

The re-release is expected to include a scene involving the FoX-Men and the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Universes colliding, as part of the Multiverse's collapse.

The extra footage is expected to tie directly into the events of Doomsday, with a timestamp on Banner's recording showing it was made on January 12, 2029.

The re-release will provide fans with a new reason to see the record-setting blockbuster, which has already been a massive success since its release in July.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day's chase of Avengers: Endgame isn't over, and the re-release could push the film's North American box office total over the $1 billion mark.
