NFL Requests DHS Remove Brian Dawkins Video
Confirmed
In Short: The National Football League (NFL) has requested the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) remove a social media post featuring highlights of Hall of Fame safety Brian Dawkins.

The video, posted on Sunday, included Dawkins' pregame walkout chant, 'The time has come,' followed by a series of his impactful tackles from his 16-year career.
Dawkins, a nine-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro, expressed his displeasure, stating, 'I didn't give permission for my name, image, and likeness to be used by anybody.
The NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed the league's request, saying, 'The league has requested the DHS take down the video.
The DHS had not responded to the NFL's request as of Monday, with both posts still intact.
Dawkins, who retired in 2011 after playing for the Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos, was a key member of Eagles teams that reached four consecutive NFC title games from 2001-04.
In a separate post, Dawkins shared a video of himself smiling and laughing about the matter, indicating his bemusement with the situation.
The DHS had not sought the NFL's permission to use the content, and the league's request came after the video went viral.
The NFL's request follows a pattern of government agencies using sports content to make political statements, such as the White House's March post linking football highlights with airstrikes.
