President Donald Trump said Friday that his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping were 'very productive,' according to Fox News. Xi, in turn, expressed optimism about future meetings, noting two more opportunities to meet this year, including at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in China in November and the G20 Summit in December at Trump’s Doral resort in Miami.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, 'President Xi and Madam Peng have just left D.C., heading for China. The meeting was one of Friendship, Strength, and Success, for both China and the U.S.A.' Xi’s wife, Peng Liyuan, accompanied him on the visit.
The visit, which included discussions on a range of bilateral and global issues, concluded with both leaders expressing satisfaction with the outcomes and the potential for further cooperation.
The meetings in Washington, D.C., marked a significant diplomatic engagement between the two world leaders, highlighting the importance of maintaining strong ties despite ongoing tensions in various areas of their relationship.
