Both Powers and Schwartz have been with the show for 12 years, with Powers joining in 2014 and Schwartz in 2015. They previously worked alongside former talent department head Mike Siedlecki.
The promotions come as SNL prepares for its upcoming season, which will see several changes. Chloe Fineman, who has been with the show since 2015, announced in July that she would be exiting SNL after seven years.
