Far-right activist Danny Tommo, 37, founder of the anti-migrant group Patriot Platform, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage with intent to endanger life after allegedly slashing a migrant boat in the English Channel.
In a video streamed on his channel, Tommo appeared to shout 'traitors' and used a knife to cut the side of the vessel that had been used by people smugglers to transport migrants across the Channel.
The incident occurred after a member of a rescue crew had boarded the vessel to take it back to France.
Tommo remains in custody following his arrest by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary on Wednesday evening.
Tommy Robinson, a prominent far-right figure, encouraged his supporters to 'rally behind' Tommo, stating that 'a plan has been hatched to defend Danny against these parasites.
