PitPro CEO Conrad said the company is focusing on large tire chains rather than smaller shops, as chains have standardized layouts and offer greater potential for wider deployment. The startup has former Ford Pro executive Ted Cannis as an adviser, who has helped make introductions to major fleets in the United States.
Conrad believes tire chains present a significant opportunity, especially in Canada where switching to and from winter tires is a yearly occurrence for most car owners. He noted that the system can be integrated into existing maintenance bays, allowing mechanics to use the space for other maintenance tasks.
PitPro is part of a growing trend of startups aiming to disrupt various aspects of car ownership. The company’s focus on tire chains and the labor shortage, combined with the constant demand for tire changes, positions it well for future growth.
