Santa Monica Police Department officials are investigating the death of 27-year-old model Presley Gerber as a suspected overdose, according to a release from the department.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner (DME) identified the individual as Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber.
The cause of death has been deferred, and the DME is in the early stages of investigating the death, with limited information currently available.
According to a law enforcement source, Gerber had checked into a Southern California rehab facility hours before authorities found him unresponsive and “cold to the touch.”
Santa Monica police responded to a report of a possible overdose around 9:35 a.m. and found a deceased male when they arrived.
Gerber had been open about his mental health struggles, speaking publicly about them on social media and in interviews.
At this time, there is no indication of foul play, and Gerber's case remains open.
