Forge, frontman of Ghost, will make his directorial debut with the 'V/H/S/ Mixtape' segment, which will premiere at L.A.'s Beyond Fest in September. The segment was completed in three months after Mylla Films was contacted in June.
Persson's 'Trespassers' is inspired by 'Deliverance,' focusing on city dwellers who encounter unexpected danger in the wilderness. The film is set to feature an A-list cast and has been described as a 'piece of dynamite' by Mylla Films.
Mylla Films, founded by 'Midsommar' producer Patrik Andersson and Jakob Abrahamsson, CEO of NonStop Entertainment, has become a magnet for Nordic genre talent since its launch at Cannes in 2022.
While 'Trespassers' and Forge's segment exemplify Mylla's core objective of fostering genre filmmaking in the Nordics, the company has also adapted to tough financing conditions by focusing on innovative and cost-effective projects.
Mylla Films' first feature film, 'Bloodsuckers,' is set to release early 2027 via NonStop Entertainment, with Charades handling sales. However, higher-end projects like 'Devastation' have faced delays.
Persson's 'Trespassers' is his sophomore feature film, following 'Feed,' which won an audience prize at Sweden's national Guldbagge film awards in 2023.
