Gmail just made copying 2FA codes much less annoying

In Short: Gmail now offers a 'Copy code' button for two-factor authentication codes, streamlining the login process.
Gmail has introduced a new 'Copy code' shortcut that allows users to copy two-factor authentication (2FA) codes directly from their inbox without opening the email.
Users can tap the 'Copy code' button to instantly copy the code to their clipboard, ready for pasting into the app or website requesting it.
The 'Copy code' button is available in Gmail for Android version 2026.09.07.x and iOS version 6.0.260907.
This update follows recent improvements in Gmail, including the introduction of Live voice search and chat features, as well as Gemini-powered inbox answers for paying users.

- This shortcut is here to address that, and it appears as a pill-shaped “Copy code: 000000” button beneath the email’s subject line, in the same area Gmail uses for attachment previews and other contextual actions. 9to5Google first spotted the feature, and we can confirm it’s live on our devices.
