Marvel has announced that 'Daredevil: Born Again' will conclude with its upcoming third season on Disney+, according to multiple entertainment news sources.
Daredevil: Born Again follows the character Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, as he continues his vigilante activities in Hell's Kitchen, New York, while Wilson Fisk, portrayed by Vincent D’Onofrio, ascends to the position of mayor.
The show's first season saw strong ratings, with 7.5 million viewers worldwide in its first five days, but the second season saw a significant drop in viewership, according to Luminate data.
Sources told Deadline that calls were made to the cast this morning to inform them of the series' conclusion.
Season 2 ended with Matt Murdock publicly revealing his identity as Daredevil, leading to the impeachment and arrest of Fisk, who was then exiled.
The third season, which is currently in post-production, will bring back major players from the Netflix series, including Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist.
However, showrunner Dario Scardapane, who joined the show during the first season's creative overhaul, has parted ways with Marvel Studios.
It remains unclear who will oversee the completion of the third season, as Scardapane's contract was not renewed.
