Blaney fell to the ground after the first punch knocked off his hat. He scrambled to his feet and threw a punch that knocked off Hocevar's hat.
Team members quickly separated the two drivers, who continued to yell at each other as they were held back.
Hocevar had previously caused Brad Keselowski to spin out at Darlington and had been involved in a close race with Blaney for second place before the incident.
Hocevar's aggressive driving style has drawn ire from veteran drivers, including Keselowski, who had warned Hocevar to 'Watch out' earlier in the race.
