Delhi Launches Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan Campaign to Mark PM Modi's Birthday

In Short: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the launch of the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan campaign on Monday, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17. The campaign will run until October 17.

The Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan aims to give a fresh momentum to Delhi’s development and celebrate the Prime Minister’s 25 years in public service. It will include the inauguration of projects and laying of foundation stones for development works worth Rs 13,800 crore.
Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra said the party would organize various programs across the city during the campaign. The Delhi government will also launch a mega blood donation drive on September 17, targeting the collection of 2,500 units of blood.
The campaign will also introduce an official organ donation platform modelled on the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO). The State Organ and Tissue Transplantation Organisation (SOTTO) will promote organ donation and raise awareness across Delhi.
Tree plantation drives and 'Mere Sapnon Ka Bharat' competitions are part of the campaign, with participation expected from over 5,000 schools and academic institutions. Anganwadi and ASHA workers will be felicitated for their contributions to public welfare and community services.
The Directorate of Education, Delhi, has announced the 'Meri Seva, Mera Sankalp' student reel-making competition, encouraging students to reflect on their contribution to society and the vision of 'Viksit Bharat @2047'. The campaign also includes drawing and speech competitions.
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood launched the Seva-First Innovation Challenge 2026 at the Delhi Technical University (DTU) to construct a strong innovation and start-up infrastructure in Delhi. Students from universities, industries, start-ups, schools, ITIs, and polytechnics across Delhi and other states will participate.
The campaign will cover Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, and Ladakh. The Delhi government will provide necessary support and funding for promising ideas through the start-up ecosystem and policies.
