The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS) stated that pilots intercepted by NORAD aircraft should immediately switch to emergency frequencies 121.5 or 243.0 and reverse course until receiving further instructions.
This was not the first such incident near Camp David. A similar interception took place in June when Trump was also staying at the retreat.
NORAD did not identify the pilot, disclose the aircraft’s origin or destination, or specify the cause of the airspace violation.
The President ended his Camp David weekend early and returned to the White House on Saturday night, rather than Sunday as originally scheduled.
The First Air Force, part of NORAD, took to social media platform X to inform pilots of the situation and stressed the importance of paying attention to Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) for updated information regarding Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs).
Officials said there was no indication the aircraft posed a threat to Trump's security or to Camp David.
NORAD's standard procedure for intercepting general aviation aircraft involves the use of flares to communicate with the pilot, which may have been visible from the ground but were not intended to pose any danger.
