Tyler Perry Declares Marriage 'Not a Good Idea

Tyler Perry has declared that marriage is 'not a good idea,' according to comments made during a recent interview.
Perry, who is 57 and best known for creating the Madea franchise, made the declaration while promoting his latest Netflix film, 'Why Did I Get Married, Again?
He explained that his outlook on marriage has changed since he wrote the original 'Why Did I Get Married?' nearly two decades ago.
Perry said, 'It’s not the marriage that bothers me, it’s the divorce.' He added that he has seen financially successful people lose substantial wealth after their marriages ended.
During an appearance on 'The Jennifer Hudson Show,' Perry joked that watching his own movie turned him off from the idea of marriage. He also noted that he doesn't really date, making it easy to share his lack of interest in matrimony.
Perry has never been married but was previously in a long-term relationship with Gelila Bekele, with whom he shares a son, Aman. The timing of his comments is particularly pointed, coming shortly after the premiere of the third installment of 'Why Did I Get Married?
