The Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi declared September 11, 2026, a holiday for all government offices, autonomous bodies, and public sector undertakings under the government, according to a notification issued by the Delhi government's General Administration Department.

The holiday will also apply to all schools under the Directorate of Education, including government, government-aided, and unaided recognized private schools.

All offices under the Directorate of Education will observe the holiday on September 11, 2026, as part of the preparations for the BRICS Summit.

The notification stated, “The Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to declare 11th September, 2026 (Friday) to be a holiday in all Government Offices, Autonomous Bodies and Public Sector Undertakings under the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, in view of the BRICS Summit and the arrangements connected therewith.”
