Mailata, who isn't giving any attention to outside noise going into Sunday's matchup with the Titans, told The Athletic's Zach Berman, 'I don't pay attention to that stuff. That's clickbait stuff.

While some in the NFL would agree with Simmons' assessment, one defensive coach noted that Hurts' 'best plays are off schedule.' This was evident in Week 1 when Hurts had an up-and-down performance against the Washington Commanders.

Despite Hurts' inconsistent play, the Eagles managed to turn things around in the second half. Their first three possessions ended in three-and-outs, but they followed with back-to-back scoring drives, including a 43-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert.

Overall, Hurts' performance has been strong enough to lead the Eagles to one Super Bowl victory in two trips to the big game, despite the high variance in his play on a possession-to-possession basis.
