In Short: The reality competition series debuts on NBC with an all-civilian cast, marking a significant shift from its previous celebrity contestants.

The reality competition series The Traitors: New Blood is set to premiere on NBC with an all-civilian cast, marking a significant departure from its previous iterations featuring celebrity contestants. The show, which began as a Dutch series in 2021, has seen more than 40 global iterations.

Each episode, one contestant is 'murdered' by the hidden Traitors, while the Faithful contestants try to identify and eliminate them. If the Faithful succeed in eliminating all Traitors, they split the prize fund.

Executive producers Sam Rees-Jones and Rosie Franks had long been asked about the possibility of an all-civilian season. With extensive testing across various global iterations, they decided to proceed with this format.

Set in a castle deep in Scotland, the show's first episode, 'A New Dawn Is Rising,' premieres on September 17, 2026. The contestants work together on missions to increase the prize fund, while a secret group of Traitors operates among them.

The Traitors: New Blood is produced by Studio Lambert, with Mike Cotton, Stephen Lambert, Tim Harcourt, and Doran Azouelos also serving as executive producers. Alan Cumming welcomes the new cast, with all contestants claiming to be Faithfuls, but a few secretly acting as Traitors.
