Acting head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, Mykhailo Semikin, confirmed the casualties in an update on his official Telegram channel.

The attack partially destroyed one entrance to the apartment building, causing sections of the structure to collapse to the second floor, Semikin said.

In a subsequent update at approximately 7:05 a.m. local time, Semikin noted that one more person may still be under the rubble.

This incident comes amid continued Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and surrounding areas, where Moscow has increasingly used drones and guided aerial bombs against the city and its infrastructure.

Russian forces have repeatedly targeted Zaporizhzhia, a southeastern Ukrainian city near the front line, with guided aerial bombs, drones, and missiles.

The latest strike follows a series of attacks on Ukrainian regions along the 1200-kilometer frontline of the war, including a drone strike in the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia on Monday that hit apartment blocks, a university, and a shopping mall, wounding five people.

In Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, Russian forces struck passenger buses, killing at least 33 people and injuring 18 others, according to Ukraine’s emergency service and Donetsk regional governor Vadym Filashkin.

Filashkin emphasized that Russian forces are targeting civilians, noting that a bus with passengers is an attractive target because one hit can kill as many people as possible.

The Russian bombardment of Zaporizhzhia late on Sunday hit apartment buildings, offices, data centers, and a National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine building in central Kyiv in a daytime assault, killing at least seven people and wounding more than 50.

In Kharkiv, a strike on a nine-story apartment building wounded 43 people, including 11 children, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday that Ukraine “will have to pay a price for the actions that have taken place in recent months,” pointing to Ukrainian attacks, including during Russia’s parliamentary elections.

U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that Russia will supply over 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the American and global marketplace, another 500,000 tons during the month of November, and 1 million tons immediately thereafter.
