A Russian drone struck a bus in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, killing at least five people and injuring seven others near a public transport stop in the Kosmichnyi district on Thursday, September 11. The drone attack occurred as Russia launched 80 unmanned aerial vehicles, including Gerbera, Shahed-type, and jet-powered drones.
Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipropetrovsk region council, condemned the attack, saying, “Russians cynically struck a passenger bus. They targeted a minibus which carried people going about their daily business.”
The Nikopol district, located across the Dnipro River from the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, is subjected to near-daily Russian drone and artillery attacks. According to Mykhailo Semikin, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, there were people inside the bus when it was hit.
The number of injured initially rose from three to five, and eventually climbed to eight, as per the last follow-up statement issued at 8:53 p.m. local time. All five victims were hospitalized, with one person remaining in serious condition.
In addition to the attack in Zaporizhzhia, Russian strikes killed at least 10 people and injured 75 others across Ukraine over the past day, according to Ukrainian authorities. The main targets of the Russian attack were the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa oblasts.

- Ukrainian forces shot down or suppressed with electronic warfare 124 of 157 Russian drones of various types, as well as seven of 10 low-cost "Banderol" cruise missiles, the Air Force said.
