A Russian drone strike on a bus near a public transport stop in Zaporizhzhia's Kosmichnyi district injured at least five people and seven others, according to Ukrainian officials. The attack occurred on Thursday, September 11, as the bus was carrying passengers.
Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipropetrovsk region council, condemned the attack, saying, “Russians cynically struck a passenger bus. They targeted a minibus which carried people going about their daily business.”
The number of injured initially rose from three to five and eventually climbed to eight, as reported by Mykhailo Semikin, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration. All five victims were hospitalized, with one person remaining in serious condition.
The drone strike came as Russia launched 80 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including Gerbera, Shahed-type, and jet-powered drones. The Nikopol district, located across the Dnipro River from the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, is subjected to near-daily Russian drone and artillery attacks.
In addition to the bus attack, a Russian drone also hit an unnamed industrial facility, according to Telegram updates. Meanwhile, an explosion was heard in Kyiv, and a Russian strike caused a fire at a warehouse, city authorities said.
