LSU QB Leavitt Upgraded to Questionable for Ole Miss Game

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt was upgraded from doubtful to questionable on Thursday, ahead of the Tigers' SEC opener against Ole Miss this weekend. Leavitt missed Wednesday's practice due to an upper-body injury but participated in Thursday's walkthrough.
According to sources, Leavitt did not appear to be injured during LSU's win over Louisiana Tech last week, where he threw for 366 yards and four touchdowns after a poor first half. He has thrown for 574 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions in LSU's first two games this season.
Leavitt has a history of injuries, having missed seven games in the last two seasons at Arizona State. Reports indicate he has been dealing with back spasms. He has started LSU’s first two games this season as a transfer from Arizona State.
LSU will continue to monitor Leavitt’s status, with the SEC requiring a final availability update 90 minutes before kickoff. Along with Leavitt, linebacker TJ Dottery, LSU’s leading tackler, remained questionable on the report.
By the SEC’s definitions, an athlete is “doubtful” if there is less than a 25% chance they will play, “questionable” if there is about a 50% chance, and “probable” if the odds are better than 75%. Leavitt’s Thursday practice was the lightest of the week, following more physical sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday.
