LDS Church Updates Gospel Library App with New Music Features

The Book of Psalms, inseparably connected to music since Old Testament times, now has a new digital home in the Gospel Library app of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Recent updates to the app include new music features that make it easier to find music, create playlists, and customize listening experiences.
These updates are designed to help members discover sacred music and participate more fully and joyfully in worship.
The new features also support congregational singing, aligning with a recent invitation from Elder Patrick Kearon to encourage energetic singing in sacrament meetings.

- You can access this resource in Gospel Library under “ Music ” > “ Hymn Helps ” > “ Using the Hymnbook ” > “ Scriptures.” While the list isn’t comprehensive, it gathers every scripture verse referenced at the end of the hymns in one place.
- Accompanists and music leaders can use this tool to carry out a recent invitation from Elder Patrick Kearon related to the music in sacrament meeting: “Let us have a tempo that encourages us to sing energetically” ( BYU devotional, August 18, 2026).
- Whether listening to a featured playlist, playing a hymn recording, preparing music for stake conference, or accompanying a congregation, members of the Church now have more tools to engage with sacred music through Gospel Library.
