WWE announced that next week's episode of NXT will feature matches in the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, with competitors from NXT, EVOLVE, AAA, Raw, and SmackDown participating.
The tournament, which kicks off on September 22, will see teams from various promotions competing for the title. Among the matches set for next week is a tag team bout between AAA’s La Catalina and Thea Hail against Kelani Jordan and Zaria, after the four brawled on this week’s show.
NXT GM Robert Stone revealed that the first two opening matches in the 16-team tournament will begin next week, with brackets being revealed on social media later this week. Additionally, Zilla Fatu will team with Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux against BirthRight’s Uriah Connors, Lexis King, and Stacks Lorenzo.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is set to return, with the lineup for the September 22 show including tag team action with La Catalina and Thea Hail. The match was made following a brawl between Catalina and Hail on the previous episode of NXT.
