The Latin Recording Academy has announced the nominees for the 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, with hitmaker Edgar Barrera leading the field with 10 nominations. According to reports, Barrera, the Mexican-American songwriter and producer behind hits for artists including Karol G, Becky G, and Santana, earned recognition across multiple categories, including two Song of the Year nominations for Karol G and Marco Antonio Solís’ “Coleccionando Heridas” and Santana and Becky G’s “Mi Gran Amor.”
Other major contenders include CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Jorge Drexler, Karol G, and Rosalía, who each earned seven nominations. Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte are also among the year's most recognized artists, with six nominations each, while Milo J received five. The 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards will take place on November 12th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will air live on Univision.
The nominations span 60 categories and cover recordings released during the eligibility period from June 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026. Notably, the Best Portuguese Language Urban Performance category has evolved into Best Portuguese Language Urban Album, while Best Latin Electronic Music Performance is now called Best Electronic Music Performance.
Edgar Barrera's nominations include recognition for his work with artists including Karol G and Carín León, along with nods in the Producer of the Year and Songwriter of the Year categories. The album of the year category brings together artists from across Latin America, Spain, and Brazil, with pop, alternative, singer-songwriter, música mexicana, and other sounds represented.
The nominations also highlight the significant role of producers and songwriters in the Latin music industry, with Barrera leading the list with 10 nods, including for album of the year, record of the year, and song of the year, as well as songwriter and producer of the year. CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Jorge Drexler, Karol G, and Rosalía follow with seven nods each, while Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte received six.
