In Short: Japan has launched a massive advertising campaign featuring its top athletes to boost excitement for the upcoming Asian Games.

Japan is gearing up for the Aichi Nagoya Games with a bold marketing strategy, featuring giant billboards of its star athletes in key locations across the country. According to reports, the campaign includes a 67m38 freestanding billboard for women's javelin star Haruka Kitaguchi, who recently broke her own national record.

Triple World champion Akane Yamaguchi's smiling face is also prominently displayed on a giant Window Glass at Katsuyama Post Office, while another billboard for up-and-coming badminton star Tomoka Miyazaki can be seen near Yamaguchi Prefectural Yanai Shoko High School. These billboards are part of a broader initiative to highlight local talent and generate enthusiasm for the Asian Games.

The campaign extends beyond major cities, with billboards placed in local areas where these athletes began their careers. For instance, a large outdoor billboard of Haruka Kitaguchi is located at JR Hokkaido Asahikawa-Yojo Station, a spot specifically chosen to honor her legacy. Meanwhile, Tokyo's night skyline is illuminated with billboards in Shinjuku and Shibuya, showcasing the glamour of its top athletes.

Japan's sports authorities hope that this extensive advertising campaign will not only draw attention to the upcoming Asian Games but also inspire young athletes and fans alike. The blitz of billboards is part of a larger effort to create a sense of excitement and pride in the country's sporting achievements.
