Texas dominated U.S. natural gas production in 2025, generating 13,603 billion cubic feet of natural gas, which is nearly double the output of second-place Pennsylvania. This production advantage underscores the state's energy infrastructure, which continues to outpace other states.
According to reports, four states—Texas, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and Louisiana—accounted for 61.3% of all U.S. natural gas production. The Marcellus and Utica shales in Pennsylvania and the Permian basin in Texas are key contributors to this dominance.
The entertainment industry faces challenges, with productions increasingly moving to Canada and overseas due to tax advantages. However, a federal incentive could boost film production spending to $277 billion between 2027 and 2035, with Texas potentially capturing 65% of those shares by 2030.
Film and TV production is lagging behind in adopting AI tools, with some industry leaders like Coco Mao of OpenArt AI predicting a combination of live production and AI enhancement. Mao emphasizes the importance of live on-set production, noting that AI is currently more useful in pre-production and post-production stages.
