Samsung Gallery to Get Google Photos Integration After OneDrive Ends

In Short: Samsung is set to integrate Google Photos into its Gallery app, replacing Microsoft OneDrive, which will end support on September 30, 2026.
A few weeks ago, Samsung announced it would end support for Microsoft OneDrive integration with the Gallery app on Galaxy phones and tablets. Now, the company has revealed that it will bring Google Photos integration to the Gallery app instead, according to reports from Sammobile and Sammyguru.
The update (version 1.6.09.31) introduces Google Photos integration, and as you can see in the screenshots, once you grant permission, the app will display storage availability and controls for syncing, cleaning up storage space, and getting more storage.
Samsung recently released an update to the Gallery Cloud Sync app, a system app on Galaxy devices running One UI 9.0, but Google Photos integration isn't visible yet. Some tinkerers have managed to activate it, but it's not yet live for the general public.
Samsung highlights three main benefits: secure backups for photos, videos, and albums; multi-device synchronization that keeps Gallery content identical across devices; and storage through Google’s cloud infrastructure. The company hasn’t said whether the new service will launch globally, which Galaxy devices will support it, or whether there will be any additional storage plans attached to it.
