The Indian chess team is currently experiencing a serious accommodation crisis at the 46th Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, with several players left without hotel rooms hours after landing. Men’s team captain Srinath Narayanan confirmed that the entire contingent is still waiting for their rooms, with the local organising committee failing to send reservations to the hotel. The team was supposed to stay at the “Silk Road by Minyoun” hotel, but the lack of clarity on when their rooms will be allotted has caused significant inconvenience. The All India Chess Federation has sent Head of Delegation Grandmaster Abhijit Kunte to assist the team on the ground.

Meanwhile, the Eagles continue to dominate in the NFLPA report cards for team travel, with discussions on who pays for the best planes and hotels. According to ESPN La Crosse 105.5, several players and team executives were interviewed for the latest NFLPA survey grades, which will serve as the basis for the report cards. The survey aims to evaluate the quality of team travel experiences, with a focus on the comfort and convenience provided to players.

In a related development, the Philadelphia Eagles are also making headlines for their wide receiver battle with the New England Patriots. Romeo Doubs, a key player for the Eagles, has been performing well, leading to a noticeable improvement in the team’s wide receiver situation. Jalen Hurts, the quarterback, has also provided insights into the team’s play-calling setup, revealing details that have not been previously disclosed.

In a different context, the White House press corps has faced new restrictions, with the White House press team now directly controlling the assignments in the White House press pool for the first time. This move has sparked controversy, with the White House account on social media dismissing Aaron, a press corps member, as a "sick, deluded freak." The restrictions on the press corps have raised concerns about press freedom and access to information.

The chess team's situation in Samarkand is not the only travel-related issue making headlines. The Indian Express reported that the team's arrival at Samarkand airport was marred by a serious accommodation crisis, with several players left without rooms. The team was supposed to stay at the “Silk Road by Minyoun” hotel, but the local organising committee has failed to send reservations, leaving the team in a state of uncertainty. The All India Chess Federation has dispatched Head of Delegation Grandmaster Abhijit Kunte to assist the team on the ground.
