In Short: Lafayette 148 marks its 30th anniversary by showcasing the modern uniform through the lens of acclaimed photographer Brigitte Lacombe.

Lafayette 148 is celebrating its 30th anniversary through a series of portraits by Brigitte Lacombe, a renowned French photographer. The project, titled 'The Lafayette 148 Uniform,' features eight influential New York women and their personal interpretations of the modern uniform.

Uniform has never meant sameness to me,' said Emily Smith, creative director of Lafayette 148, emphasizing the brand's commitment to individuality. 'Uniform has been part of Lafayette 148 from the beginning — the idea that great clothes become part of how you live, work and ultimately define your own style,' added Deirdre Quinn, CEO and cofounder of the company.

Styled by de Rakoff, each woman in the series wears pieces from Lafayette 148’s fall 2026 collection, selected to reflect their unique personalities and the demands of their daily lives. The portraits, taken by Lacombe, are set to be exhibited at select Lafayette 148 retail locations and will also be available on the brand's website.
