Jharkhand SIR Deadline Extended to September 30 for Voter Claims and Objections

In Short: The Election Commission has extended the deadline for filing claims and objections under Jharkhand’s SIR of electoral rolls to September 30, following requests from stakeholders.
The Election Commission (EC) has extended the deadline for filing claims and objections under Jharkhand’s Schedules for Inclusion and Removal (SIR) of electoral rolls to September 30, according to the CEO’s office. This is the second and final extension, following an initial deadline of September 4 and a previous extension to September 15.
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar stated that eligible Indian citizens whose names are missing from the draft electoral roll can submit Form 6 along with the required declaration through ECINET or through their Booth Level Officer (BLO) by the new deadline.
The CEO also appealed to eligible citizens not to wait until the last date and complete the process before September 30. He noted that filing a Form 7 does not automatically result in the deletion of a voter’s name.
The extension was granted in response to requests received from various stakeholders, with the aim of ensuring that claims and objections are dealt with properly and that no eligible voters are left out of the electoral roll.
