Confirmed

Sports Desk

In Short: India secured a dominant victory over Afghanistan in a T20 cricket match, clinching the series with one match remaining.

India's bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah, set the tone early with a maiden over, while Sanju Samson's impressive 57 runs helped India to a 7-wicket win. Skipper Shreyas Iyer struggled, scoring just 11 runs, as Rashid Khan took three Indian wickets.

Indian bowlers, including Nitish Kumar Reddy, restricted Afghanistan to 159 for eight, with Arshdeep and Ravi Bishnoi conceding nine and eight runs respectively during the powerplay. Despite a strong start, Afghanistan faltered, with Zadran hitting boundaries and Atal scoring a quick 12 runs.

Sanju Samson's form was a highlight, providing solid support to Abhishek Sharma, who contributed 39 runs in 19 balls. Kuldeep Yadav, who recorded his maiden First-Class 10-wicket match haul, was left out of the T20I squad and the upcoming Asian Games, a move that disappointed the player.

Shreyas Iyer, who was omitted from India's Test side and T20I squad, managed just 11 runs in this match. His recent form has been inconsistent, with Iyer admitting to being disappointed by his exclusion from the playing XI for all matches.
