Confirmed

Sports Desk

In Short: India clinched their three-match T20 series against Afghanistan with a seven-wicket victory in the second game, securing an unassailable 2-0 lead.

Afghanistan, playing host in a unique series arrangement, struggled to post a competitive score as India won the toss and elected to field. Sanju Samson's half-century helped India seal the series with wins in the first two games.

Samson scored 57 off 22 balls, hitting four sixes and seven fours, to reach his first half-century since the T20 World Cup final, where he was named player of the tournament. India raced to 82-0 in the powerplay, setting the stage for their victory.

All-rounder Nitish Reddy picked 3-24 in three overs, while Afghanistan's spinners failed to contain India. Captain Ibrahim Zadran anchored Afghanistan's innings with 37, but a late counter-attack from Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan could not prevent them from being restricted to 159-8.

India's chase got off to a blistering start as Samson and Abhishek Sharma put on 88 runs in just 38 balls. Samson carried on to reach his seventh T20 half-century off 20 balls, holed out to long-off, as India sealed the match with a seven-wicket win to clinch the series.
