The Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI (WSAI) at IIT Madras is launching AI Studio to transform research ideas into startups, aiming to support researchers and entrepreneurs in the AI, machine learning, and data science fields.
The initiative will provide support for teams to develop their research or early-stage concepts into viable businesses, including assessing market demand, validating customer needs, and preparing ventures for funding.
Applications for the AI Studio will open on October 3, 2026, with a six-month development and evaluation programme for selected teams, potentially extending up to three months for those progressing towards institutional funding.
The programme will conduct two cohorts annually, offering seed funding, cloud and computing credits, research laboratories, data and research resources, mentoring, and entrepreneurship training to participating founders.
