IIT Kanpur has launched an online certificate programme focused on Python, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Neural Networks, and Deep Learning (DL). The programme, which will be conducted online through Zoom, is scheduled to run from December 14, 2026, to January 15, 2027.

Designed for a wide range of learners, including students, research scholars, faculty members, and working professionals, the programme aims to combine theoretical understanding with hands-on implementation of AI and ML algorithms. Participants will work with practical datasets from various fields such as business, medicine, science, and engineering.

The programme will cover Python-based tools and techniques used in AI and machine learning, including NumPy, Linear Algebra, Matplotlib, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Keras. It will also include topics such as regression, classification, supervised and unsupervised learning, linear algebra for AI/ML, logistic regression, support vector machines, and other machine learning techniques.

No prior programming experience is required to enrol in the programme, making it accessible to learners from different academic and professional backgrounds. The programme will comprise Python projects based on real-world datasets from various fields, and participants will work with Python libraries such as NumPy, Matplotlib, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Keras.

Applications for the programme are now open, and interested candidates can visit the official website of the institute, iitk.ac.in, to apply by paying the prescribed registration fee. Through this certificate programme, IIT Kanpur aims to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in implementing algorithms and software of AI/ML and Neural Networks (NN) in projects, research, and placements to accelerate their careers.
