French luxury beauty brands are making a comeback in the premium hair care market, with launches from Carita and Caudalie aiming to revitalize the category. Carita, which launched its first products in 1956, is rolling out a new four-product line called Hair Rejuvenic, while Caudalie has entered the market with its own hair care brand. The launches come as the premium hair care market is growing rapidly, with brands leveraging skin care expertise to enhance hair quality and shine.

For Carita, it all 'started from hair and this vision that everything comes from the roots and the scalp,' said Chiara Allegri, the brand’s chief executive officer. The Hair Rejuvenic launch includes a new in-salon treatment, Soin Régénerant Haute Brillance, which features unique hand gestures. Clarins, another skin care brand, has also explored fibroblasts in the scalp to impact hair’s shine, quality, and density.

‘We have demonstrated that it is able to boost all the key growth factors for denser hair,’ said Lair, referring to the brand’s anti-hair-loss serum. The product contains VineOxyl as well as a complex of soothing and AOX organic French plant peptides. ‘The scalp is skin, and we treat it exactly that way,’ said Mathilde Thomas, a cofounder of Caudalie, which launched its two-unit hair care brand in late August in European pharmacies and Sephora U.S.

The premium hair care market's 'skinification' — or skin care know-how segueing into hair care savoir-faire — keeps revving up, according to reports. This trend is being driven by brands like Clarins, Caudalie, and Carita, which are leveraging their skin care expertise to enhance hair quality and shine.
