The Houston Texans and Denver Broncos were notably left out of Cowherd's top 10, while the Kansas City Chiefs, despite their high ranking, were still considered low by Cowherd. "Maybe they're low, but what I watched last night was something called a run game," Cowherd observed, highlighting the Chiefs' strong ground attack.

The Los Angeles Rams' fall from grace is also tied to their defensive struggles, particularly with Garrett's absence. "The Los Angeles Rams also plummeted outside the rankings after a loss to the 49ers, followed by the news of Myles Garrett heading to injured reserve," CBS Sports reported, noting the impact of Garrett's injury on the team's defensive capabilities.

Despite the changes, Cowherd still believes in the potential of the Kansas City Chiefs, emphasizing their run game and overall team performance. "I had them as the most improved team," Cowherd said, indicating his continued faith in the Chiefs' ability to compete at a high level.
