A study from California Polytechnic State University and Rutgers University found that even low doses of BPA can reduce insulin sensitivity in healthy adults, linking the chemical to potential health issues.

The research, published in ScienceAlert, involved 20 healthy adults who ingested a low dose of BPA for five days, resulting in a 9 percent decrease in peripheral insulin sensitivity compared to a placebo group.

The findings suggest that BPA, commonly used in food and beverage packaging, may interfere with insulin-stimulated glucose metabolism in skeletal muscle, with implications for public health.
